How We Work

Consultation

We would be happy to sit down with you in our state-of-the-art showroom to go over your wants and needs. We will show you past projects similar to yours and come up with a budget for the project. Based on your budget we will direct you in picking towards the materials that will fit the bill. At that point the decision becomes yours. If you decide Dream Kitchens is the company for you, we sign a Design Agreement which entitles you to a full set of drawings and list of specifications for your project. That agreement is accompanied by a design retainer fee, which, once you purchase from us, gets applied to your project.
Design
Once you have chosen Dream Kitchens, we schedule a time to measure your home. We then take those measurements and design your Dream Space! You will come back to our showroom to view the design in photo-realistic images, on a large screen television, along side the pictures we took of your existing space. This greatly helps you visualize what your new space will look like. The design process lasts anywhere from a week to a month, or more, depending on how quickly the client can make decisions on design and materials.
Ordering
Once the contract is signed, Dream Kitchens orders all your materials. The longest lead times are generally the cabinets. This could be a 4-10 week wait (or more) depending on the cabinet brand you choose, during which you can finalize the selection of all the other materials, like countertop, hardware, tile etc.
Installation
Normally demolition of the existing space starts a few weeks before your cabinets arrive. Depending on the complexity of the project, usually demo, electric, plumbing, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, backsplash and accessories can take a month or two to complete. This broad range can be pinned down better on a job by job basis, and will be covered during your consultation and design phases.
Completion
Once the counterops go on, you are almost at the end. We schedule a walk-thru with you to go over any problems you have noticed, or unfinished items left outstanding. Some of these will be warranty issues, but others will be known as your punch list. Once your punch list is complete, your warranty period begins. Dream Kitchens passes on all manufacturer's warranties to you, and warrants their labor for one full year.
